Planned Giving

When you commit to giving a planned gift to the Newman Center, you:

Continue to Support the Church

Your support of the Newman Center and its many ministries has been important to you during your lifetime. A planned gift gives you the opportunity to continue this support after yor passing and will allow you to make an impact on future generations at Newman.

Create a Legacy

Your planned gift will help secure the future of the parish by providing a base for both sustaining and growing the ministries that touch the lives of so many individuals. Your gift will be a powerful symbol of the Spirit working in our inter-general community.  Your legacy will be remembered through Newman’s Cor Ad Cor Circle (PDF) – a special society to recognize those who have made an investment in the future of the Newman Center.

Benefit from Giving

A planned gift can offer significant benefits to you as well as the parish, particularly with regard to your tax advantages.

Many opportunities exist to include the parish in your estate planning.  Below are some of your choices.  To discuss any of the options below, or talk through questions you may have, please contact JoAnn Shull, Development Director, at 573.449.5424 x205 or [email protected]  Before making a decision, please consult with your financial or legal advisor to discern which options would be best for you.  If you include the parish in your plans, please use our legal name and federal tax ID.

Bequests & Beneficiary Designations Expand

One of the simplest ways you can leave a legacy at the Newman Center and support this faith community is to provide for Newman in your Will.  You can also name Newman as a beneficiary or contingent beneficiary on your IRA, retirement plan, life insurance policy, or annuity.

Endowment Gifts Expand

This type of gift is permanent and invested, with a portion of the gift being used to support immediate needs and the remaining funds used in the future.  The funds from this gift have the potential to increase over time.

At this time, the St. Thomas More Newman Center has one established endowment fund through the Diocese of Jefferson City for the purpose of supporting Campus Ministry. Gifts to this endowment can be made in any amount, at any time.

To create a new endowment fund, generally gifts must be a minimum of $50,000 and the purpose must be approved by the pastor prior to the creation of the endowment fund.  Please consult the Development Office for additional information on endowment funds if this giving opportunity is of interest to you.

Real Estate or Tangible Personal Property Expand

In general, any gifts that are not cash or easily converted to cash must be approved by the pastor and adhere to the policies in the St. Thomas More Newman Center Gift Acceptance Policy.  Please contact the Development Office to discuss if the parish is able to receive and use your gift towards the parish’s mission.
