Baptism

To have your child baptized at Newman, you must be a registered parishioner and participate in one catechetical session. Please download and fill out the Baptism Preparation Worksheet and email it to Deacon Frank ([email protected]). Catechetical Sessions are offered every other month, and attendance is required for all parents prior to baptism of the child. The best time to attend the class is during early pregnancy. For more information, please contact the parish office.

Adult Baptism (RCIA)

Adult Baptism (RCIA)

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) assists adults who are interested in becoming Catholic or returning to practicing the Catholic faith. RCIA sessions meet weekly throughout the year. The sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation are celebrated at the Easter Vigil. Team members (resident and student parishioners) volunteer in a variety of ways with the RCIA process. They may assist with teaching, as sponsors, with rituals or in various other ways. To learn more about participating in RCIA, you can attend an inquiry session on most second Sundays of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Disciples Room.

Upcoming RCIA Inquiry Sessions: August 9 | September 13

Contact Lisa Rose at [email protected] for more information.

Reconciliation

Reconciliation

Reconciliation is offered on Tuesdays from 5-5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 4-4:30 p.m., or by appointment.

First Reconciliation preparation begins in the second grade.  With so much changing due to local Covid rates, we have not set a final schedule for 1st Reconciliation for this year but we have two parent meetings coming up.  We hope you'll join us in person or via zoom to talk more about what preparations will look like this year.

Parent Meetings for 1st Reconciliation 2020

  • Sunday, September 20th at 1 p.m. via ZOOM
  • Wednesday, September 23rd at 6:15 p.m. in the MPR
Contact Emily Shull at [email protected] to make sure your family is receiving regular updates about 1st Reconciliation.
First Eucharist

First Eucharist

First Eucharist preparation begins in the second grade. This year we're pushing our schedule back about one month. Scheduled events will begin in February and our celebration of 1st Communion will be Sunday, June 13th 1 p.m. We do ask all families who want to participate in First Eucharist preparations to complete First Reconciliation preparations as well. Please click the link below for a list of important dates for 2021. Contact Emily at [email protected] with questions or to get your family registered to participate this year.
