Thank you for all your support in disaster relief!

Over the last several weeks, our community has been asked to support disaster relief and Catholic Charities/Relief Services on two separate occasions. I am humbled by the generosity of this community, and I am grateful to all who found a way to be a part of this effort. The two collections netted a little over $32,000 dollars; that in addition to our regular collections that have remained solid. We are not “robbing Peter to pay Paul”; we are living out the Gospel call to care for those in need. Thank you for your generosity, your deep compassion, and all that this community represents.

Blessings,
Fr. Rich

If you would like to continue supporting the victims of hurricanes and other natural disasters, you can donate to Catholic Charities (www.catholiccharitiesusa.org), which is helping victims in the U.S., or Catholic Relief Services (www.crs.org), which is working with those Mexico and the Caribbean. You can also write a check to the parish for this purpose and we will send it on. Please make the checks payable to St. Thomas More Newman Center with “disaster relief” in the memo line. If you would like to your donation to go to a certain cause, please put the specific disaster in the memo line (ex: “Hurricane Irma,” “Mexico earthquake”). Thank you and please keep all of those suffering from these disasters in your prayers.
